UcanMAP Programmes . . . UcanMAP Scholarship Scheme: Scholarships will be granted to high school and college students who excel in their year group. UcanMAP will provide the scholarship for one academic year. UcanMAP Microfinance Changing Lives Program: We will provide loans to small scale business owners (preferably groups/co-operatives) at very moderate interest rates to assist them grow their businesses. We will also help & encourage other development NGOs, Association and Clubs to set up using our resources and our experience in attracting and maintaining members. These loans will not be provided to individuals/groups for the purpose of acquiring household appliances and cars, but will be provided solely for business purposes. UcanMAP Venture Capital Initiative Program: This involves collaboration with Universities, CEOs or major corporations, entrepreneurs, the Private Sector Ministry, etc, to provide funding for outstanding business ideas/plans of business school graduates/MBAs/etc. A number of winning business will be selected following a national competition. These businesses must be established in Africa (Ghana, to begin with). We will also source funding for individuals/partners in the Diaspora with equally laudable ideas/business plans that they are willing to implement in africa/Ghana. UcanMAP will retain a board seat in these start-ups, and our seed funds will be converted to preferred stock (shares) in the company. If the company becomes successful and eventually goes public, UcanMAPs ownership will be sold and the proceeds used to fund more business plans of emerging entrepreneurs. This will ensure that the initiative is self sustaining.
